Who we are?
Founded in November 1996, the Forum Mobilkommunikation (FMK) is
a non profit organisation representing the Austrian network providers,
the mobile phone and infrastructure industry as well as the Association
of Electro- and Electronic Industries (FEEI).
The FMK was founded to encourage debates concerning problem areas
in the industry and to find positive solutions to those problems.
Its mission is to promote a socially, environmentally and financially
responsible and successful mobile telecommunications industry. Moreover,
the organisation plays an interactive role in terms of its relations
to politics, the economy and society and seeks to provide optimum
framework conditions to its members.
Tasks of the FMK
- To offer an information service to citizens, media, public authorities, communities, etc.
- To provide brochures, booklets and other sources
of information
- To initiate symposia, expert hearings, information
events, press conferences, etc.
- To answer all questions related to mobile communication
- To edit scientific literature and research results
